1997 993 Further info on Alt. Belt failure

Engine

Vehicle Information: Model: 993; Year: 97; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 40,000;

The Alt belt is the only one that is wobbling and it is definately wobbling more when viewing it from staright behind. More noticeably on the left side (or the belt on the upswing).I have checked the Fan housing and it is rock solid.I have used compressed air to blow out the pulley bucket and felt around with a piece of wire. I did not hear or see anything down there (not to say for sure it is not possible).I am no expert but the tension on the two belts Fan and alt) were the same when they were first installed.The top pully was covered in black rubber which my mechanic sand blasted off when he replaced the belt the first time.He is talking about pulling the engine and removing and checking and possibly replacing the bottom pulleys. I do totally trust him but, obviously I would like to do this only as a last resort. I certainly have no problem in posting this on the site but really It is I who appreciate you in taking the time to help me and everyone else who may read this.Cheers
