1997 993 Replace Cabriolet top gear drive

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Carrera 993 Cabriolet ; Year: 1997; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 80,000;

New top installed by Sports Car Shop, but the driver's side gear drive to open and close the soft top was not properly tightened up causing the cable to pull out and the drive gear to not engage the gear teeth. I am not sure how to set up the gear since it is an arc of approximately 30% of a circle. Does it start on the top or under the drive gear when the top is closed? How many teeth should be past the drive gear shaft? This gear is a pain to put together since the cable has to lock in place as well as the gears mesh in the correct position to properly operated the top in coordination with the right drive unit.
