1998 993 Oil Leak Repair Recomendations

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Carrera; Year: 1998; Body Type: Targa; Total Mileage: 27000;

First, really enjoy your column. Thanks.Recently uncovered a slight burning smell. Brought the car to a Porsche dealer who indicated that I have oil leaks on my valve and timing chain covers. Dealer recomends that I do a complete engine reseal since their experience indicates that other seals and gaskets will wear out shortly thereafter. And to fix those seals will require replacing what I would require fixed now. A staggered approach to seal repair has never worked according to the dealer. What are your thoughts, given low miles and year of the car? Is this the recomended approach. Repair cost is very expensive. Could you continue driving with the oil leaks as it .No oil is appearing on the garage floor but the car is not used daily, rather only weekendsWhat seals would you require changing immediately?What other preventative work would you recomend given that the engine needs to be removed to repair the seals currently?Would you consider replacing the clutch, if so should the flywheel be changed as well? Should major service be done as well at this time? Thanks and awaiting your response
