Hi Joel. Although I usually drive my Carrera a couple of times a week, there are weeks it goes undriven. I'd planned to buy the Porsche OEM trickle charger to keep the battery up. It has no unusual drain problems, I just hate dead batteries and this one is at least two years old, probably more. Naturally, I consulted Tech Q&A first and read your comments about using a trickle charger in a well-ventilated area. The Carrera is in a large (400 sf) 2 car garage with 16 foot ceilings but, alas, no opening windows or other ventilation except the garage doors. Unless my family is out of town one or both garage doors are opened multiple times each day (my wife parks in that garage).Long story short, will using a trickle charger under these circumstances, assuming battery is properly filled, of course, really pose a threat of explosion from hydrogen accumulation? I find it hard to believe that it would but your warnings are pretty dire! I appreciate your time and input. Best regards.Brian HurstMaverick Region
