1998 993 Valve Ticking II

Vehicle Information: Year: 1998; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 35,000;

Follow up to your reply, I did my own oil & filters change back in February with Mobil 1 0-40. Two and a half hours of fun! My miles to add a quart of oil is some where around 1,100. Looking at previous comments on 993 oil consumption at this web site I found the following "The engine should consume no more than 1 quart per 600 miles, that much is allowable. You should see maybe half that if your car is normal, or one quart per 1200 miles, and half that again or better if it's a really good one." So I assume my oil consumption is not an issue. Should I be concerned with the intermittent valve ticking after a week or so of sitting if I'm using 0W-40? One other little item (hope it is), I do have a very small oil leak around the bottom of the first cylinder on the passenger side. It didn't reach the engine tray but I wiped it clean and 100 miles later its still dry. I expect it may be the valve cover but feel I can wait as long as I monitor it. True?Thanks for the excellent advice.Total Mileage: 35,000Car Use: Street use only
