1998 C4 Cabriolet Chassis vibration

Suspension and Steering

Vehicle Information: Model: 993 C4; Year: 1998; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 84,500 km;

Joel: I am a new PCA member residing in Canada where I recently purchased an immaculate one-owner '98 C4 Cabriolet which I am told, is one of five that was imported to Canada that year. Suffice to say, I am hooked and a now proud P-car enthusiast...My question is as follows: At around 100 kph, the car has a vibration that seems to affect the entire chassis. Having had all four wheels balanced and checked for their roundness coupled with a recent alignment, I cannot seem to track why the car vibrates. I feel the vibration in my steering wheel and the seat back and if I slow down or speed up, it seems to go away. Is it perhaps related to aging engine mounts or a sign of needing new shocks? The car runs on 18" Technology rims and new P-Zeros. (I know the obvious answer is to not travel at 100 kph, but...)Finally, thanks for all your great advice and my best wishes to all members for a safe and happy holiday season.Adam
