1999 996 C4 convert to C2?

Other

Vehicle Information: Model: 996 C4; Year: 1999; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 122,222;

My car was a daily driver until October 2005. With 120,000 miles on the clock I decided to retire it from winter use. It is now used for summer weekends and six to eight track events per season. My question is; is it possible and practical to convert a C4 to a C2? Given that the car will no longer have to endure Michigan winters, and that I wish to improve its on track performance, I thought the weight reduction afforded by the elimination of the systems that drive the front wheels would provide significant benefits. I also plan to convert the suspension to ROW MO30 with GT-3 bars and acquire track only tires and wheels. I would also appreciate your thoughts regarding track use tire pressures.
