1999 996 Drivability issues, DME R&R options

NOTE - I tried submitting this twice, but my browser gave me errors.I am having issue with a local dealer regarding the diagnosis and repair of drivability issues.The car is now in the shop for the 4th time since November and covering less than 1500 miles. The first symptom was a gentle surging when rolling at steady throttle at lower speeds. It degraded to instances where it would start, but not rev over 2200 with the pedal to the floor both at idle or under load. Towed it to the dealer and they saw faults in the throttle body. They cleaned and dried the solenoid. $200 and it didnt work more than a day.Tow in #2 to R&R the throttle body for another $800. It ran OK for awhile but in late January the same symptoms returned but more violently. Fortunately it happened at the very end of a great run from San Jose to Fort Bragg and back. The check engine light came on this time.Tow in #3. They found faults in the DME and the throttle pedal/sender assembly. They suggested replacing the pedal/sender assembly for another $800+.I got just about 200 miles out of it before the surging and bad idle came back, but was able to drive it to the shop.Now they want to replace the DME at a discount for another $1200.My confidence in this shop is gone, but I have to make a decision on what to do. They are representing the DME as a $1500 part plus an hour or two for labor, thus the $1200 being a discount. Is their pricing valid in your experience?Am I right to be skeptical about this many components failing so close together on a sub 50,000 mile car?Are there 3rd party options I should be considering?Any feed back would be appreciated. This is my first 911 and I want it running right.Clint
