1999 996 ECU/DME

Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Model: 996; Year: 1999; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 34500;

I recently had the engine check light come on. This also went off before i could get to the dealer after filling up with gas. This continued a few times until the light stayed on permanently. When i took it to the dealer they initially couldn''t get any communication with the DME at all to get any codes. The next day after disconnecting it they retrieved info. They replaced a broken vacuum hose from heat to fuel pressure regulator which had apparently been causing it to run rich. They cleared the fault and everything was reset. On the test drive the light came on again and then they retrieved code 105 "control module faulty". It has been reset again. I have been told it might cure/reprogram itself. As yet the light has stayed off. Does any of this sound common/normal or a problem?Also what is the difference between the DME and the ECU?
