1999 996 passenger window motor

Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Year: 1999; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 74,000;

I was prepared to ask you if you had encountered any problems with 996 starter motors not wanting to turn over after the engine gets up to normal operating temperature. The problem reminds me alot of the heat tranfer problems we used to encounter on the 914's. My car has 74,000 miles on it,and who knows, maybe the starter motor is just tired. I have access to a core motor so I will probably just swap them out and see if that fixes the problem...Now for a more pressing problem that actually surfaced this evening. My passenger window is apparently possesed! The window has stopped automatically opening when the exterior handle is opened, and when the window switch is operated, the window will operate intermittingly in either direction regardless of whether the switch is pushed to raise or lower the window. I was finally able to raise the window to its full stop using the switch..however when I went to open the Passenger door the window with the exterior handle, the window opened, but this time, to an opening of aproximately 4 inches, and the window would not automatically rise when I shut the door. Have you ever come across anything like this? I can tell you this,I am not looking forward to digging around on the inside of that door..especially with all those airbags laying around!..Thanks a bunch and keep up the great work!
