1999 996 Radio interference

Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Year: 1999; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 17000;

Several questions have been posted on Radio interference. Most likely the cause is a mobile phone, in particular a GSM phone. If the phone is roaming, increasing signal or just about to ring, feedback will pass into any speaker in close proximity, which can include headsets, land line phones, home HiFi's etc. I've had GSM phones for > 10yrs so am well tuned to the GSM popping sound. FM band and the GSM frequency are particularly bad together.
