1999 996 Rear Spoiler Bellows Replacement Website REVISED

Body

Vehicle Information: Model: 996 C4; Year: 1999; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 59100;

I have completed the replacement of a torn rear spolier bellows on my 1999 C4, and have developed a website where others can consult before they head into the great unknown. This is available at:http://www.colby.edu/~ragastal/996RearBellows.htmlOf course, before you may want to send others to the site, you may want to check it out.Since I've replaced the bellows (and made sure that they open and close appropriately, using the cabin swith), the rear spoiler doesn't seem to elevate itself at speed. According to the manual, it will begin to rise after 48 mph. But, over the past two days, when I've been travelling at 65 mph I have not seen the upper edge of the spoiler in my rear view mirror. My wife has turned around to see if it was up, and it wasn't. About two years ago, a similar thing happened but self corrected after some time. Got any ideas as to why the spoiler rises or not at any particular speed over 50 mph? And, is it designed to raise up always over the 48 mph speed? Or, does it depend on how aggressive the car is being driven? Any clarification on this would be appreciated.
