1999 996 Replacing a Mass Air Flow Sensor; Workshop Manuals

Other

Vehicle Information: Year: 1999; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 54000;

Black Forest Porsche in San Diego performed a diagostic on my car for me (as a result of a intermittant check engine light). According to them, I need to replace the "Mass Air Flow Sensor" . Is this something that I can do or do I need to put their children (at $90.00 per hour labor) through college?Secondary, is there a reasonable (e.g. NOT Porsche) source for shop manuals for the 996 series?Thx!
