1999 996 running wider tires on a front 7"x17" 996 wheel

Wheels and Tires

Vehicle Information: Model: 996 c2; Year: 1999; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 110.000;

My tires are worn out and need to be replaced. I have read your "approved tire" articles and am aware of porsche's concerns. I would like to try and cancell out the designed understeer in this car. I am not use to it(prev 993 driver)and find it scary and annoying. I want it to push the ass end if anything has to go first. Now that the back tires are completely bald and its been raining the car behaves more like i am use to, that is the front end does not plow and you only have to be on the look out for the tail end coming around. So "N" specs aside, can i run a 215 width up front (up 10) and a 245 on the rear (down 10. Will that get rid of the understeer? if not can i ad some 5-10mm spacers behind the fronts to widen the track? just interested in the physics of it not porsches official stance Thanks Joel.
