2000 996 C2 Suspension upgrade

Suspension and Steering

Vehicle Information: Model: 996 C2; Year: 2000; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 14,400.;

The subject of suspension upgrades has been thoroughly discussed in this forum, however, I'm still agonizing over the available options. Your opinions and views are greatly appreciated. I'm very interested in lowering my car to improve its appearance and handling but don't intend to use it as a track car. I'd also like to maintain something close to the ride quality of the stock car.I'm aware of the P96 Euro M030 Sport suspension available through Carnewal and understand it would lower the front by 20mm (about 3/4 inch)and the rear by 10mm (about 1/2 inch). This seems to be a very modest improvement over stock however I'm not clear on what amount of lowering would be considered reasonable for typical street driving or if the handling and ride are noticeably different. Can you provide suggestions based on your experience or input from others?It's been suggested by Rennsport Systems in Portland,OR that the use of H&R springs and heavy duty Bilstein shocks with GT3 stabilizers would lower the car an inch in front and 3/4 inch rear as another very good solution. Have you had any experience with this setup? If so, does it seem reasonable for the needs I've described?
