2000 996 Mixing front and rear brands

Wheels and Tires

Vehicle Information: Year: 2000; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 19000;

My rear tires need replacing and Consumer Reports rated the Goodyear Eagle 1's as their highest rated performance tire. My dealer says they are not "N" rated but I've checked TireRack (as per your suggestion) and three reviews have given them one 9.28 and two 10 ratings. Are these OK? Also, the original tires are Michelin Pilot Sport AS and the front tires seem OK for now. I know your eariler responses say not to mix brands, but for street driving, does it really matter. I imagine the front tires will only last another 5- to 10,000 miles and then I'll replace them with Goodyears. Am I making a mistake by mixing the tires for maybe one year?State: FlBody Type: CabrioletCar Prep: StockModifications: Total Mileage: 19000Car Use: Street use only
