Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Model (Boxster, Boxster S,Cayman, Cayman S): Boxster S; Year: 2000; Engine (type, size, modifications): Stock 3.2 liter Boxer 6 - 247hp; Total Mileage: 129900; Transmission: Manual;

I would appreciate your help with the following lighting problems.At all times, the right side headlamps, (high & low beams, and the right hand turn signal lights (front & rear) operate normally. When the low beam headamps are turned on, and a left turn signal is actuated, the left side turn signals (front & rear) operate properly. The Problems - Left Side Turn Signals, Fog Lamp and High Beam headlamp.When high beam headlamps are turned on, the left headlamp operates at a lower intensity than the right headlamp. When the fog lamps are turned on, or fog lamps plus the rear fog lamp is turned on, or the high beam headlamps are turned on, with or without fog lamps, the left side fog light and left side high beam operate at reduced levels of brightness, the left turn signal fails to operate, but when the turn signal is actuated, the fog and hight beam lamps flash at lengthy intervals. All bulbs have been checked and appear to be in satisfactory condition. The high beam headlight bulbs and the fog lamp bulbs have been replaced with new ones, since one fog lamp appeared to have a grayish coating inside, though the filament was intact.The wiring and connectors of the left front lighting module have been examined carefully for any indications of connection problems or shorts. All appear to be in good condition and test normally with a continuity tester.The ground wire at the left front fender is tight and appears undisturbed since the vehicle was manufactured.Is it likely that the problem lies in the headlamp switch? The turn signal switch? Both?Thanks for your assistance in diagnosing the problem.Ed
