Joel,This might be helpful to anyone considering the purchase of an extended warranty.I have a 2001 C2 Cab. with just under 28000 miles which I purchased with 17000 miles on it. I also purchased a 5 year 60000 mile extended warranty form CNA for $2682.00.I just had the RMS and the intermed flange replaced. I was told the RMS was replaced with the 5th generation design seal that is said to be a design that works. The work was done at Porsche of the Midwest Auto Group ( MAG ) in Dublin Ohio, great people to deal with, and was covered by the extended warranty. The warranty covered the cost, $938.68 after a $100.00 deductable and tax. I also had the Clutch replaced at my cost; it was nearing that time so I decided to do it at the time of the RMS repair since the Trans had to come out and saved the labor costs. Total cost for the clutch kit was $731.39 and no labor cost because it was done at the time the RMS repair was done. I know you have said before that the cost of replacing the RMS 2 or 3 times might cost less than the extended warranty, but with the cost of this RMS repair and an earlier repair on the convertible top for $1109.09 that was covered by the warranty, plus the peace of mind knowing that if I have a really expensive repair, it will be covered, makes it worth while to me. These cars cost a lot and are expensive to repair; I feel if you are going to have a Porsche you should have warranty coverage.Jesse
