2002 996 C4S Pre purchase question

Car Purchase

Vehicle Information: Model: 996 C4S; Year: 2002; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 38000;

Hi Joel,I apologize if this is a duplicate I entered this yesterday, but I got an error when I hit submit.I am in the final process of negotiating for a 2002 C4S with approx. 38000 miles. It looks clean externally. It had been certified when the current owner bought it, and still has about 1 years left under that warrantee. The owner happily told me that the rear seal was replaced by the local Porsche dealer. ( I have read all the myriad posts on the RMS/crank issues )My first question is is the fact that the RMS was replaced, the good or bad news if there was a problem that caused the seal to fail, will it continue to do so until the underlying cause is fixed? The second question do you feel there is sufficient warrantee remaining to protect me from a potentially expensive engine repair? Is there anything else I should be asking the owner? Thanks for your input. ( your answers and insights have been excellent!)regards,pbd
