2002 996 Oil Dump solved...

Vehicle Information: Year: 2002; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 6029;

Sonnen Porsche, Mill Valley CA is GREAT!Well, I have a new engine. and it is really really new... microscopically clean!I'll have to "break it in" all over again.I'll pick up the car tomorrow... I watched 'Michael' replace the engine.. Everything come out as a unit. Pretty slick.Because it's a tiptronic, you have to fiddle with the starter motor and to do that you have to take off the intake manifold.. but... if you know what you are doing, it's no sweat... I'm glad Michael does..I saw what broke, Its is a bearing on the auxiliary shaft that is at the bottom of the motor under the main crankshaft...I guess I really surprised the engine didn't eat itself because that shaft also runs the cams... evidently when I shut off the motor all the oil drained back to the engine, and guess where the aux shaft is... at the bottom of the engine... glug glug glug ...Thanks to the 'maker' for GUNK.... Thanks for your advice...The new engine exhaust note sounds more powerful... interesting...
