2002 996 Tire Replacement & Sizing

Wheels and Tires

Vehicle Information: Year: 2002; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 19000;

Dear PCA,My OEM rear tires (Pirelli P-Zero Rosso N4 - 285/30-18) on my 2002 996 Carrera is worn & needs replacement. However, the fronts (225/40-18) still have ~40-50% more life based on approx. tread depth. Q1: Can I just replace the rears ONLY with the OEM size & tire model? Are there any key cons (e.g. handling, PSM issues, etc.) for this option?Q2: Could I replace the rears ONLY with slightly wider Pirelli PZero System Asimmetrico N3 295/30-18? This would be to improve handling and fill the space within the wheel wheels. I then plan to install Pirelli PZero System Asimmetrico N3 235/35-18 when the rears need replacement at the next interval.Are there any key cons (e.g. handling, rubbing, PSM issues, etc.) for this option?Thank you in advance for your help!
