2002 996 TT Increase power with X 50 module upgrade

Engine

Vehicle Information: Year: 2003; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 1000;

When I purchased my off the floor 996 TT I inquired about the X 50 option and was told that the major improvement could be obtained by just buying the computer module. The other items (heavy duty transmission case and different waste gate springs) were less important and that I could get significant improvement with just the module. Do you think that this is true? To confuse matters, I have seen an advertisement from Autothority (703-323-0919) for their Stage 1 upgrade to 471 HP, which involves sending my module to them for the changes. Do you know any one who has done this and is this better then the X 50 module upgrade? My previous car, a ZR-1 corvette, had several after market chips available for it, but in reality they only made a little difference at the top end. These changes, however, only cost about $300 versus several thousand for the Porsche changes.
