2002 C4S Improper spring perch for strut

Suspension and Steering

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 C4S; Year: 2002; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 50,000;

I tried to fit 245/40/18 Hoosier GAC tires on my stock rims (2002 C4S) and the front right tire rubbed excessively (I have the ROW suspension). When I looked at the car, the front right tire was rubbing against the lower spring perch on the strut (the big aluminum part). It was a completely different design than the one on the left, which had no cleance problems. I bought the car used, so it is possible that there was some switching that went on previously.Questions:1. Should the left and right parts be the same? Seems like a stupid question, but the part number seems to match what DC Auto showed for a turbo (99634350802). I'm fairly good with a wrench and the parts are definitely different (left to right). I didn't get the part off the left side.2. Is it possible that when the ROW parts were put on that the right side was put on improperly? I forget if the position was fixed or not.Thanks in advance for your time!
