2003 996 C4 Door opening problem

Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Model: 996, car. 4; Year: 2003; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 58,000;

After reading the replies to my dilemma, I started the engine and clicked the dash switch to lock the doors. When I click the dash switch to lock and unlock, everything works perfectly and the door opens on the first pull.However, when I click the dash switch to lock the doors and then pull the door handle, the same problem results. However upon close inspection, it seems that the window drops on the first pull, but the door lock won't release until I pull on the door handle a second time. Could the problem be in a relay for the door lock? Ill ask my mechanic to check this when I go in for my service in a few weeks. Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I'll show them to my mechanic. Also, I'll see if he has another computer, to switch out. Perhaps this one is defective. I'll also ask him check the dash switch. Not being a mechanic, Im only guessing, but it seems that this might possibly be a programming cipher that has to be coded into the computers instructions.If anyone has any further suggestions, they would be most appreciated. If we fix the problem, Ill email to let you know how we did it. Thank you again Joel for your forum. H.L. Marks
