2003 996 C4 RE: your answer to 18" vs. 17"

Suspension and Steering

Vehicle Information: Model: carrera 4 ; Year: 2003; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 46500;

Hi Joel, Thanks for such a great tech section. I've learned a great deal. That said, I have to disagree with your advice regarding changing from 17" to 18" wheels. I picked up a Porsche CPO 2003 C4 Cab. back in May. It came with the stock 17" wheels and new PilotSport A/S tires. I found some preowned 18" Sport Design wheels with Continental ContactSport 2 tires about 80-90% tread for $1250 on Ebay. The results were amazing. It used to bounce and slide around like an '78 Cadillac. Now it's a Porsche. As to my question, what do you think it would cost to do the suspension mods. you described in the above referenced message specifically the GT3 adjust. sway bar, GT3 shocks & springs etc. and corner balancing? Thanks in advance!
