2003 996 C4S Tires

Wheels and Tires

Vehicle Information: Model: 996 C4S; Year: 2003; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 16400;

I'll try to be brief. I'm considering changing to aftermarket wheels (19" HRE, Asanti or similar) for asthethics and PERHAPS to end rear tire cupping. I religiously check air pressure and with only 16K have already once replaced the rear tires due to cupping and excessive noise. They are loud again. Current tires are Pirelli P zero. Questions are:1. While the C4S has "turbo like" wheels, I believe they are different than the turbo. Do you know what the wheels weigh? I don't want to increase unsprung weight.2. Is cupping/excessive rear tire noise a known issue on the 996 with all wheel drive?3. In my experience, on other cars I ended cupping issues NOT by alignment nor balancing, but by replacing the tires with stiffer sidewalls. Any recommendations versus the P Zero?4. What should I expect with 19"? Perhaps even more tire noise?Thanks!
