2003 996 Oil Level

Engine

Vehicle Information: Year: 2003; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 975;

Car was not driven for most of the harsh winter. Today, took the car out, and got a check oil level message. Turned the car off - waiting for the car to sel-check oil level - and to my surprise - the BOTTOM bar was blinking - I guess suggesting I am down a quart of oil.I am very concerned. This car was purchased after my 2002 Boxster S had to have the engine replaced due to an oil leak that could not be fixed.Is this normal for a car sitting through the winter - driven occasionally every few weeks - to be down so much oil?I am hacing the car serviced on Feb. 18 for a squeaky passenger door - should I have them CHANGES the oil?Very concerned - so any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!Total Mileage - 975Car Use - Street use only
