2003 996 Oil Overfill

Engine

Vehicle Information: Year: 2003; Body Type: Targa; Total Mileage: 1490;

I had my oil changed by Jack Daniels Porsche Service department on Dec.30th 2003 because my NEW car was built in 11/02 and was therefore sitting for a year before I purchased it. After reading a response on the Tech site about an OVER fill OR an Over charge by a dealer after an oil change I decided to check MY oil level at the dipstick and NOT with the digital display. I have put nearly about 800 miles on my car since the change with NO apparent oil usage which is a change from the breakin NORM.The level was CLEARLY over the the mark on the dipstick AND the service tech said that it was NOT 8.5 (OR 8.7) quarts at a change BUT that this was 8.5 to 8.7 liters which is approx 9.3 to 9.5 quarts and that's what they put in at the change. DID this overfill (I'm guessing about a full quart) do any harm to my engine and will it if they continue to overfill. (DID THEY OVERFILL?)I got charged for 10 quarts of Mobil 1 0w40.Are THEY right that the fill level with a new filter is 9.5 QUARTS or is the Porsche owners manual at 8.5 to 8.7 quarts?
