2003 C4S Wet Brakes

Vehicle Information: Model: 996 C4S; Year: 2003; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 54,000;

I bought my C4S with 12,000 miles on it (now have 54,000, mostly highway) and am noticing a change in the braking. I have the stock brakes and have not had any brake work done to the car. I recently had the 45,000 mile service performed and was not notified that the pads needed to be replaced and no wear sensor is present. Recently, I've noticed that I no longer get that severe "bite" that pulls me out of my seat when braking hard. I'm guessing it's time for new pads even though the sensors are illuminated yet? Also, for the past 7-10K miles, when the brakes are wet I get little to no abatement of speed on my first pump of the brakes. The pedal is firm but it seems like they need to "dry" before they work. I don't know that that is normal but I do know it's scary! Thoughts?As always, many thanks to you and this awesome resource!
