2004 996 C4S SUSPENSION CLUNK

Suspension and Steering

Vehicle Information: Model: C4S; Year: 2004; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 516;

JUST TOOK DELIVERY 2 WEEKS AGO AND SINCE HAVE NOTICED A HEAVY CLUNK AT NORMAL ROAD SPEED WHICH SEEMS TO BE COMING FROM THE REAR WHEN HITTING SHARPE BUMPS IN THE ROAD SUCH AS CHANGE IN ROAD HEIGHT DUE TO CHANGE IN PAVEMENT AND BROKEN PAVEMENT.PALM BEACH DEALER HAS LOOK UNDER AND CHECKED TIGHTENING ON ALL SUSPENSION COMPONENTS AND FOUND ALL TO BE IN SPECIFICATION. MECHANIC SAID ONLY THING HE COULD THINK CAUSING IT COULD BE A STRUT WHICH RUNS FROM SIDE TO SIDE UNDER THE REAR SEAT AND IS LOOSE. TO GET TO IT REQUIRES REMOVING THE REAR SEAT AND BOX. HAVE YOU HEARD OF SUCH A PROBLEM AND ARE YOU AWARE OF THE STRUT HE MENTIONED?
