2004 996 Leaking Rear Main Seal

Engine

Vehicle Information: Model: Base; Year: 2004; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 31K;

I purchased my car a year ago, at the time it had 27k miles. In a pre-purchase inspection (by a cert. Porsche mechanic at a independent Porsche shop) the car was found to have a LRMS. It was replaced under warranty (certified Pre-Owned) by a local dealer. According to the repair ticket they used the upgraded seal. Unfortunately, almost a year to the day and nearly 5k miles later I had to drop the car off at the dealer for another LRMS. I tried to speak to service writer about the problem, pointing out that it is common knowledge that this a problem area. I got a disertation about how a rear main seal works and how many other brands of cars leak oil from the RMS, too. Basically I was told, "It's not really a problem". No, it's not a problem until my warranty runs out in a year. Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill? Should I just let it go? Should I call the Porsche US HQ? Total Mileage: 31K
