2006 997S Sport Exhaust

Engine

Vehicle Information: Model : 997S; Year: 2006; Mileage: 20,800;

When I ordered my 06 Carrera S in early 2005, I tried to order it with the sport exhaust option. Porsche would not allow it to be ordered with that option because it was not yet available, but advised that it would probably be available to the dealers by the time my car was delivered. I spoke with my sales person and ordered the sport exhaust as a dealer installed option at the same price as it was listed from Porsche. My Vehicle Purchase Contract shows that it was a dealer installed item. When my car arrived, the sport exhaust was available, so it was installed prior to delivery of the car to me. While it was being installed, I received a call asking whether I wanted the system to be activated or left in the open position so that it was always fairly loud. I said to leave it in the open position.I have now discovered that all of the components of the Sport Exhaust system were not installed, including all of the wiring, controls, etc. I had assumed that it had simply been de-activated as described in a previous letter which you answered on the web-site.What I am trying to determine is this: if the entire system had been installed, but it had been de-activated as you described, how much time & effort would be involved in getting it activated?I am trying to be fair with the dealer, but I do feel I paid for the entire sport exhaust system, so I need to find out what my responsibility should be.If you would prefer to answer this privately, you may call me at any of the numbers listed on the form, or email or fax your answer.I am trying to resolve this as soon as possible, so your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
