3.0 - 3.2 rebuild Mockup Timing

Hello Chris

It's been a long time since I last emailed you in which I've lost your email address.

Well I'm finally back at it, in mockup and I'm setting the timing .....

I have #1 at Z1 1.26mm (964 cam grind) and attempting to time #4. I turn from Z1 where #1 is opening for about 270 degrees where # 1 is almost closed and #4 has just opened to 1.26mm for the intake valve stroke in overlapping TDC valve clearance with the 1st. I'm on the notch approximately 260 degrees on the crank, approximately 100 degress prior to Z1.

My question is the shop manual says to set it like the 1st but I'm a little confused as to where the mark is and how I'm to get there if the valves are where or near where they are supposed to be by gauge and visibly?

I hope I made the problem clear and understandable above .... please help!!!
