356C laquer paint

Vehicle Information: Model: 356 SC; Year: 1964; Body Type: Convertible; Engine (type, size, modifications): 1600 cc; Total Mileage: 104,000;

I have a 356 with lacquer paint. Unfortunately, it was hit recently. The damage is a dent the size of half a watermelon located in the left fender, between the front driver's side wheel well and the front bumper/ light assembly. The insurance company is prepared to pay for the proper work to restore it to the way it was. The car is currently garaged at my house in Beaufort, SC. What is the best way to go about repairing it? Is it more difficult to feather in paint when the existing paint is lacquer? Do you know a qualified body shop in that area (Charleston, Savannah, Beaufort)?
