'71 911T European Tail Lights Upgrade

Electrical

Model: 911T, Year:1971, Mileage:94000, Type of use:Street use only
Hello Ed:I am restoring a US Spec '71 911T Targa. Had the brilliant idea of replacing the US turn signal / taillight lenses with the European spec ones - I just thought the Euro lens look cooler. The Euro taillight is mostly amber, with a small white section(reverse) and an inboard red section (while the US spec has Red/White/Red). With the Euro lens, the taillights operate as follows:Brake: middle amber section Turn Signal: inboard red sectionHeadlight on no brake: inboard red and outboard amberHeadlight on with brake: As above + middle amber sectionIs the above light scheme the way the Euro cars work or do I have to rewire the lights so that when I brake the red section lights up instead of the amber? Thanks.
