74 915 tranny atachment to engine

Transmission

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Carrera; Year: 1974; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 107000;

refering to your answer of 10/16/2003 on 1970 transaxle/ engine sepration to re-atach I reversed your explaination but I am haveing trouble when rotating the bearing to arive at the so called " flats " to line up with throwout arm forks. I can't see anything that looks like flat areas on the bearing I know I removed the trany in the meathod you discribed a number of years ago but seem to be haveing trouble reataching to the engine. Should the trany be boulted to the engine when preforming the reverse instructions?Also when you use the term trans. nose cone do you mean towards the rear or the front of the car? [Probably a stupid question}In your first statement back 2003 you said there are "only 2 years that require rotating the bearing 70 and 71 72 and on did not." So mine being a 74 does that mean this procedure does not apply ? and do I need to use the bolt and spacer procedure ?Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks FrankPS I have some more numbered wire photos comming to you soon. I warned you about your great answers!!!
