76 911S Polish/Wax Question?

Paint

Vehicle Information: Model: 911S; Year: 1976; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 46K;

Hi John, I inherited a 76 911S from my father in law here in NJ. The car has been restored to excellent running condition by a great shop, Precision Motorsport in Tewksbury, NJ, after a 13 year hiatus. The original white paint appears in good condition. But it is cloudy, hazy and shows what I guess is oxidation. (Sounds like summer weather.) I want to try polishing and waxing it myself. 1 - Is that wise, or should I have it professionally done, and 2 - if I do it myself, what process do you recommend for doing it? PS Washing and using PS21 cleaner had no effect. I assume it's a stage one paint and not clearcoat and I have no interest in having a detailer take a wheel to it and risk the paint.Thank you in advance!
