82 911 SC Steering Wheel Removal

Vehicle Information: Year: 1982; Body Type: Coupe;

I hit A bump the other day, and all of a sudden about 3/8 of an inch. play showed up in the steering wheel. I have seen a description of what they called "early 911's". They turned the horn counter clockwise and pulled it off. Is this the method for the 82 SC ? I hesitate to force any parts in the wrong direction. Thank you,Robert
