Dropping engine (w/transmission) for 90K service, easier with the mid-rise lift thankfully. Lots of great advice/guidance on p-car and rennlist sites. Used shop manuals for step-by-step with pictures from p-car for clarification. Car was new to me (w/out maintenance records) in 2008 with 87,000 miles so I don't know if rear suspension was updates, but have your list to check part numbers. The suggested list of service items is quite extensive-my main motivation was to replace valve covers with billet type so I don't have to do valve cover gasket jobs as often, also have spark plugs and will do belts and hoses. Are rebuilt distributors really needed as opposed to new caps and rotors? Also shocked by cost of spark plug wire sets, is there a way judge whether they are needed? One list I saw even indicated replacing the power steering pump and alternator, which I would not think required preventive replacement? Hoping the rear main engine seal and chain housing gasket I have seen mentioned will be more obvious when engine is out of car. Also hope my Koni FSD shocks arrive at some point. Know you have answered all these questions before, but appreciate any feedback you can provide. Thanks, Joe Baehr
