911 134 vs R-12

Heating and Ventilation

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1986; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2, 6 cyl,; Total Mileage: 109,000;

I just bought my 1st 911, and am now learning it. The A/C is my current topic. It doesn't cool, but it operates OK. The person I bought it from had just put a rebuilt compressor on it, and said it has 134 gas, not R-12, now in it. I intend to have the system topped off for starters. I noted one of your past tech letters which indicated 134 having smaller cells, etc. The question is, is there any point in going back to R-12? Your article clearly inferred the 911 A/C performs best on it.
