911 1969 Silicone brake fluid

Vehicle Information: Model: 911T; Year: 1969; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2 Liter stock; Total Mileage: 98K;

About ten years ago I replaced the standard brake fluid with silicone. From day one the brakes were a bit spongy which was expected. Now I am reading about problems with silicone attacking caliper o-rings. My braking system is now in need of an overhaul and I'm thinking about going back to standard brake fluid. Do you agree? How to I flush the silicone fluid out?
