911 1970 Oil seals on top of engine

Vehicle Information: Model: 911T; Year: 1970; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.2; Total Mileage: 128K;

I am trying to replace the sealing washer and the 'O' Ring on the Oil Pressure Switch and the Oil Thermostat. I can't get either loose. I assume the best tool for the switch is an 'open' crow foot socket? ('open' as opposed to flare nut )Is there a more appropriate tool?I removed the two nuts on the thermostat, but can't pry up the thermostat from the engine cover. Is there a specil tool that lifts it up? I'm affraid of breaking the plastic engine cover with prying. Still, it doesn't budge with a bit of force.Thanks Ed for both answers.
