911 1972 chrome v. black trim

Vehicle Information: Model: 911T; Year: 1972; Body Type: Targa; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.4T with S Pistons and Cylinders, E valves and injector pump, hydraulic tensioners, etc. ; Total Mileage: 92,000?;

I'm restoring a 1972 911T (VIN 9112110781, delivery date 1/1/72). The car has black windshield washer nozzles, black trim around the turn signals and taillights, and silver lettering on the rear deck. All of the books and photos I have seen indicate that the car should have chrome windshield washers, silver trim on the turn signals and taillights, and black lettering on the rear deck. Is one configuration "correct" or did it vary from car to car despite what I have read? The car does have the proper chrome horn grills, and a gunmetal engine grill with the "2.4" emblem (the gunmetal may be the result of fading from black). Thanks.
