911 2.2 11 Blade Fan Belt Size

Engine

Vehicle Information: Model: 911T; Year: 1973; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.2L; Total Mileage: 96,000;

I'm installing a 2.2L motor into my 73 911T and it came with an 11 blade fan. The pulley dia. is 3.75" and I read somewhere that I needed a different size belt other than stock. I ordered a ContiTech AVX10x725 which a Porsche parts vendor said would fit.When I tried to install the belt I could not get the pulley half to seat properly on the alternator shaft because the belt appears to be much too small for this application.I checked the fan housing and made sure that it is sitting correctly on the engine case so the length between the two pulley's are correct.Is there another size belt that I should be using or is there something else that I am not aware of that I'm doing wrong?BTW, thank you Ed for helping me solve my oil line fitment that I asked about a couple of weeks ago. Without your help I still would have been stuck with the problem today!
