911 oil pressure

Engine

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 carrera ; Year: 1985; Body Type: Convertible; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2L non-turbo; Total Mileage: 182,386;

My 1985 911 (182K)seems to sound and run fine, brief smoke only on starting, no leaks, good throttle response, decent mpg, etc. However, after 5 minutes or so of operation, oil pressure will drop to no more than 1 bar at 2500-3000 rpm and virtually 0 at idle. Engine doesn't knock, but occasionally at idle there will be a growl or rumble. I've heard it described as sounding like a hamster in an exercise wheel (rod bearings?) What's your opinion and what are my options? (Lowest cost first, please)
