928S4 Power Steering

Suspension

Model: 928S4, Year:1990, Mileage:33,600, Type of use:Street use only
I just purchased a mint condition 33,000-miles 1990 928S4, and am struck by how heavy the steering is at parking lot speeds for a power-steering equipped car. A local Porsche repair specialist drove it and said it was the heaviest steering 928 he had driven but within the acceptable range for 928's, and didn't think it worth replacing the power steering pump or rack and possibly find it didn't make any meaningful difference. The pump fluid level is full. The front tires are Kumho 225/50/ZR16's which I plan to replace soon with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Pluses. Does anybody know if there is any adjustability in the 928S4 power steering pump or rack assembly to make the steering less heavy at low speeds? Also I wonder about increasing the pump pulley diameter to increase the line pressure without blowing the seals in the rack? Thank you in advance.
