I started a engine build last year, about this time.  Unfortnately not all the machine work was done with me not in control of all the parts. A few items have been removed in the process and I am trying to pick up the pieces.

The fitting bushing P/N 928 101 195 03, according to PET there is only one installed in the engine.  There are two locations for this bushing cut into the bearing cradle.  I have poured through the factory manuals, and every other manual I can get to.  Should there indeed be only one of these bushings installed and if so into which hole?

If there is only one bushing to align the bearing cradle, is the only positive way to line up two parts of the engine block by checking the front side with the thumb nail test, where the oil pump will mount?
