964 Head Gaskets

Vehicle Information: Year: 1992; Body Type: Cabriolet; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.6L, stock; Total Mileage: 65,000;

I purchased my 92 C2 Cabriolet in August 2003. I had a PPI run at Sun Valley Imports in Scottsdale, AZ and everything was in specification. In late November, I began to hear what I believed to be valve clatter and took it back into Sun Valley. The diagnosis was blown gaskets and subsequent compression loss on cylinders 4 & 6. They confirmed my thoughts that this was an unusual problem for a well-kept, dealer-prepped 92 with low miles. 1) Is this a problem that happens to 964s and I've just not heard about it during my research? 2) Could this be the result of a previously broken distributor belt that is just now resulting in the head gasket damage? 3) Based on this, and the fact that the engine will be out for the repair, should I have anything else inspected, aside from the other 4 head gaskets?
