993 Cabriolet Top function Technical Bulletins

Documentation

Vehicle Information: Year: 1995; Body Type: Convertible; Total Mileage: 39xxx;

Convertible top neither closing nor opening -- stuck in up position 1/2" short of closed, but not locking. Locking levers do not actuate/inject into slots. However, motors will spin for one second when button is depressed for putting top "down." Motors will not spin when button is pushed to go "up." Trying to narrow down the source of the problem before replacing locking motors again. Top has been replaced less than a year ago including motors! Dealer clipped in new motors to both sides and same happens -- spinning, no locking. Two black switch buttons on front of top are clearly depressing properly. Fuse is OK. I have changed relay R-21 in fuse box and also big "brain" relay under dash (huge effort) so far. I have ordered new switch for center console. Anybody have a further analysis or suggestion? Help!
