993 Targa rear brake light arch

Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1996-98; Body Type: Targa; Total Mileage: 11,500;

Apparently two of the lights in the "basket handle" rear brake light arch are out and I would like some guidance on replacing them. Reading other Q&As re these lights seems to indicate that they are a bit troublesome to R&R (soldering, etc.). So, what is the procedure for this? Please be basic/complete as I have just acquired this car (even after having read the 18 page targa top adjustment supplement!) and don't want to mess it up by prying where I shouldn't, etc. Also, are the factory service manuals still available for this car? If so, where should I seek them. If not, what do you suggest as a good substitute?
